Updated Lao Top

My older sister gave me this wonderful green and gold Lao woven pattern fabric to make into an updated top wearable to the temple service or on a night out. The peplum shape is youthful as well as flattering for most body types. The exposed zipper gives it a modern touch. You can wear it with a sleek dress short or a pencil skirt but for this post I chose to go with black liquid leggings. Last post I tried to give details of the shoes I was wearing but I thought lighting could have been better so here they are in detail again!

Labor Day Trippin Outfit

This weekend my boyfriend and I went to hang out in Catalina Island. Our time there was amazing! Right from the boat ride on the way there. We ran into friends and a coworker, saw a pod of dolphins swimming with waves the boat made behind us, and star gazed over the dark ocean. Then arriving to a welcoming small town night life on a cool shore breeze. Discovering the very next morning on our run along the edge of earth that the water surrounding us is sooo clear you can see everything below! It's so amazing this wonderful place is just a boat ride away from the crowded city of Los Angeles. Why didn't we do this sooner? Well, here's my outfit for this post. The brown polka dots on navy ground is a design of mine from a company I worked at. It's a sheer number suitable for the high temperatures which we were spoiled with on this weekend. I paired the top with some denim shorts and sheer laced thigh highs under a pair of black multi-buckled cut out booties. Not your usual resort or beach attire but I love it nonetheless.
