Fashioning ugly sweater

I find beauty in ugly sweaters. To me they add such a fun quirkiness to an outfit. Somehow I feel I am not alone in this infatuation. Am I right? I actually wish I have more of them in my closet to wear on regular days. This fun festive sweater was made for my work's ugly holiday sweater day which received amazing reactions. I even inspired a coworker to borrow the bulbs from our work Christmas tree to decorate her own sweater and others that wished they had thought of the idea. I think I'm going to make more and accumulate them so I can wear different ones each day next time the holidays come around. Even better is to throw an ugly sweater decorating party! How fun would that be?!

Have a fabulous holiday season!

Mr. Updated Plaid

Hi All! I know I have neglected my blogging duties for too long and I am sorry for that. I plan on making it up to you by consistently posting fun stuff for your fashion pleasure from now on.

With that being said, let me present to you my first topic upon my return to the blog world. Mr. Updated Plaid. Pu or polyurethane has a been a hot trend in women's fashion for a while now but I haven't seen menswear really take part in it. So I thought of how to incorporate it into menswear in a way that isn't tacky but instead very fresh and stylish. My idea however involved a button down shirt style which I've never reattempted to do after once failing horribly in trying to construct a women's button down shirt back in school. There was just sooo many pattern pieces to cut and sew together this idea became intimidating to me. But my excitement for my idea was stronger than my fear so here is the end result! Black faux leather on the shoulder epaulet, front/back yokes, pockets, and sleeve slit! You like?
